From its inception in 1968 to manufacture and market Polyvinyl Chloride
(PVC) leather cloths and sheetings, Scientex Berhad
(Scientex) has since then expanded and established itself as a
reputable property developer in Johor, Malaysia with its development of
Taman Scientex, as well as one of the largest producers of stretch film
in Asia.
Scientex was successfully listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now known as Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad) in 1990, and went on to list Woventex Corporation Berhad, now known as Scientex Packaging Berhad (SciPack) on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1996.
Apart from its property development of Taman Scientex in Johor, Malaysia, and its foray into the packaging industry, Scientex is also involved in providing various products for automotive interior for automotive manufacturers, and has also set up the first polyurethane adhesive plant in Asean countries to manufacture adhesive materials for flexible food packaging.
Through the dedication of its management and staff, and prudent investment policies, Scientex has recorded, for its first time, more than RM500 mil in revenue for the financial year ended (FYE) 2005, an increase of almost 50% over FYE 2004.
