Scientex proposes cash and share dividends SCIENTEX Inc Bhd has proposed a first and final dividend of three sen per share for financial year ended July 31 2007. In a statement yesterday, Scientex also proposed a share dividend of one treasury share for every fifty existing ordinary shares of 50 sen each, with the entitlement dates for the cash dividend and share dividend at January 7 and 9 2008 respectively. Managing director Lim Peng Jin said on top of the cash dividend, this was the first time that Scientex is rewarding shareholders with share dividend. The firm on April 18 had completed the 1-for-2 share split and 1-for-2 bonus issue. Scientex is involved in property and manufacturing of industrial-packaging, automotive parts, and chemical-related products. For its financial year ended July
31 2007, the company reported a 4.6 per cent increase in revenue
of RM613.09 million from RM586.32 million the year before,
underpinned by the higher contributions from property
development, industrial packaging and chemical divisions. -
