Building a Learning Centre

Building a Learning Centre

Under an initiative by Urbanice Malaysia, we participated in a joint effort to provide a conducive learning space and promote a healthier pastime of reading to the younger generation. This ‘Komuniti Hab’, as it is called, is a classroom and library that supports the surrounding communities at Pangsapuri Murai Jaya at Alor Gajah in Melaka

Instilling sustainability values across the community.

SCIENTEX Family Flood Relief Assistance

During December 2021, several parts of Malaysia, particularly in Selangor have been hit by massive flood, and have affected many of our colleagues. Through our Scientex family compassion and initiatives, we have pooled our resources, and extended necessities and cash assistance to more than 150 of our colleagues and affected communities at Durian Tunggal, Melaka.

Importance of Ergonomics at Work

In Scientex, our people safety and health is one of our top priority. In February 2022, we have invited an expert from Sunway Medical to host a webinar on the topic “Importance of Ergonomics at Work” to our people. The goal of ergonomics is to reduce stress, eliminate injuries and disorders associated with the overuse of muscles, bad posture, and repeated tasks.

Educating and Enabling Vaccination

In our battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, we ran virtual educational talks to instill the importance of getting vaccinated to our staff and participated in the Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunisation Programme (PIKAS) and Construction Industry Vaccination Program (CIVac) by CIDB to enable rapid vaccination of our workforce.

Donating Blood to the Medical Community

Our corporate office regularly organises blood donation drives to meet requests for blood donations from government hospitals. During the pandemic, the blood donation drive was conducted with all standard operating procedures and precautionary measures undertaken to ensure proper hygiene and safety volunteers.

A Collective Composting Effort

Our ‘Back To Earth’ programme at our Shah Alam headquarters helps to complete the food cycle and support the local community. Food waste we generate is transformed into organic soil enhancer through a waste composter machine and distributed to nearby farmers.

Advocating the 3Rs of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Our internal 3R initiatives, such as the adoption of e-reports and other digital alternatives to reduce reliance on paper and printing and the active segregation and recycling of our plastic waste, are complemented by community driven actvities such as the Green Truck (pictured) to advocate the importance of plastics recycling to school children.
